StephenNoe I am thinking of buying an Epson Eco Tank ET-2810 Printer/Scanner and would like to know if anyone has experience of using this with BigLinux OS. I have had a look at some postings in various web sites and some people have had difficulties others none. Would the OS find the drivers automatically or would I need to locate and install? If so what driver is the best for this printer.? Thanks for any help or advice. Stephen
athayde StephenNoe how is it going, Stephen? Well, that is a difficult question. I think it will be better for you looking after your Control Center and Install Drivers and Firmwares and, afterwards, seek Printers in order to do some tests.
Merlin351xt StephenNoe Hi Stephen. I use a ET-2700, a bit older but still a great Printer. I found BigLinux automatically found the driver for USB and later after a reboot it connected via WiFi. I have found other distros except Neon and Kubuntu cannot auto-find the drivers. if you get stuck there are drivers for Linux on the Epson site. They come as a “bundle” for printing and scanning. https://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/search/01/search/searchModule Just download the correct one and extract it. That should work. Let me know if you need more info.

E4A I have a samsung Xpress printer and works well on BL. The wifi configuration for printing its not so trivial, by cable it works nice. I have a separeted scanner Cannon that also works well. In both cases was not needed to install any additional driver.
StephenNoe E4A zThank you for your feed back and advice. I will buy the printer and see if it will work without loading drivers and as you say I will try with a cable. Thanks again. Stephen
StephenNoe Thank you Merlin351xt. Your help and information is very useful. I appreciate your time and effort and have now got my printer working. Stephen
Creto StephenNoe Guys, you should try to stop banging your head and look for BigLinux itself, look below: T+
Jesus I have a Brother MFC-J5330DW printer with a scanner, and in BigLinux everything works very well, you don’t have to look for drivers.
Merlin351xt Jesus Thank you Jesus - Unfortunately my long-standing relationship with KDE I could not install some EPSON ET models as are not in the listed drivers but the fix is really easy by downloading from EPSON Site Linux Drivers and a couple of reboots.
