Sebas I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing these issues with your BigLinux installation. Here are some suggestions to help you troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:
Hardware Report: It would be very helpful to provide a hardware report to analyze what’s going on. You can easily generate one by going to the Control Center > System and Hardware Information > Generate Report. Please share this report with any further assistance requests.
Restore Snapshot: You can try reverting to a snapshot from before the issue started occurring. When you boot your system and see the GRUB screen, choose an earlier snapshot date when the freezing problem wasn’t happening. This might resolve the issue if it’s related to recent changes.
Kernel Version: The problem might be related to the kernel. If you’re using a very recent kernel, especially any real-time (RT) or release candidate (RC) versions, they could be causing instability. I recommend switching to a Long-Term Support (LTS) kernel. You can do this by going to the Control Center, selecting “Install Kernels and Mesa,” and then rebooting. Afterward, in the Advanced Options of the GRUB menu, choose the LTS kernel. You can also remove the more recent kernels to prevent them from being loaded upon reboot.
MESA Drivers: Graphics drivers can sometimes cause freezing issues. Consider switching to a stable MESA driver option. You can do this through the Control Center as well.
Remember to back up any important data before making significant changes to your system. If these suggestions don’t resolve the issue, please provide the hardware report, and we can further investigate the problem. Good luck!
Best regards,
Rafael Ruscher
